NORFOLK, Va. -- Trailing 10-2 in the seventh inning, No. 25 Old Dominion scored nine runs in the seventh to overcome an eight-run deficit and pull out the series-clinching win over FIU on Sunday afternoon at the Bud Metheny Complex.

In the nine-run seventh, Nick Walker hit a grand slam to pull Old Dominion (35-16, 18-9 C-USA) within one, before Turner Bishop drilled a two-run go-ahead home run for what proved to be the winning runs.

The eight-run deficit marks the largest comeback for ODU this season, as the Monarchs scored a total of 41 runs in the three-game set. 

Offensively for ODU, Walker went 1-for-2 with three runs scored and four RBIs, while Bishop finished the day 3-for-4 with three RBIs. For the series, Bishop hit a sizzling .583 with two home runs and 12 RBIs.

Zach Rutherford also drove in two runs for ODU, while Jared Young went 2-for-5 with two doubles. Overall, the Monarchs hit .371 for the weekend with 18 extra-base hits. 

On the mound, Culver Lamb earned the win, improving to 3-0 on the season after throwing 1.1 innings of shutout relief. After ODU gained the lead after the nine-run seventh, Isaiah Nelson tossed a perfect eighth and Corey Klak threw a scoreless ninth for his fourth save of the year.

Overall, the Monarch bullpen held FIU (28-25, 12-15 C-USA) without a hit for the final five innings.

Sunday's game also marked Senior Day, as the senior class of eight players and one manager were honored in a pregame ceremony.
