NORFOLK, Va. – The No. 49 Old Dominion men’s tennis team (15-5) travels to Wilmington, N.C. on Friday, April 14 at 1:00 p.m. to take on UNCW (11-7). The Monarchs will wrap up the season on Sunday, April 16 at 1:00 p.m. when they take on William & Mary (9-10) in Williamsburg, Va.
The Monarchs defeated Charleston in their last match, 4-3.
Old Dominion cracked the top 50 this week coming in at No. 49 in the country. The Monarchs are led by No. 44 nationally ranked Adam Moundir. Old Dominion doubles team of Moundir/Jacob Nicolussi jumped back into the rankings this week at No. 62. Javier Jover Maestre boasts the best record on the team this season at 15-1.
Next week, the Tennis Monarchs will travel to Murfreesboro, Tenn. for the 2017 C-USA Tournament, held on April 21-23.
Meet UNCW
The Seahawks (11-7) close out their regular season when ODU rolls into Wilmington. In their last match, the Seahawks defeated UNC Greensboro, 4-0, ending a three-match losing streak. Of UNCW’s 11 wins, nine have come at home this season.
Meet William & Mary
Sunday will mark the final regular season match for both teams. William & Mary is currently on a two-match losing streak after falling to Middle Tennessee and VCU by a score of 4-3 in both matches.
