NORFOLK, Va. -- John Wilson pitched six shutout innings and Nick Walker went 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs to lead Old Dominion to the series-clinching win over Rutgers, 15-4, on Sunday afternoon at the Bud Metheny Complex.

All nine Old Dominion (8-2) starters reached base and four different Monarchs knocked in two or more runs, as the Monarchs scored 10 or more runs for the fourth time this season.

Aside from Walker's three-RBI day out of the leadoff spot, Jared Young went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Vinnie Pasquantino went 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI. Turner Bishop and Kyle Battle also knocked in two runs each.

On the mound, Wilson, the freshman lefty, scattered two hits and a walk over six innings and struck out five for his second win of the season. Culver Lamb and Jim Wilkerson each pitched a scoreless inning of relief, while Jack Jett made his ODU debut, pitching the eighth inning.

With the series win over Rutgers (3-7), the Monarchs have now won 2-of-3 against the Scarlet Knights in four consecutive years.

ODU remains at The Bud for a pair of midweek games against James Madison. First pitch is set for 3 p.m. on both Tuesday and Wednesday. The Monarchs then host West Virginia for a three-game series next weekend.
