PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The No. 26 Old Dominion men’s tennis team took down Penn (6-4) by a 4-3 score on Sunday afternoon at the Hecht Center.

"Wow, what a tennis dual match," said ODU head coach Dominik Mueller. "We saved two match points in doubles and five singles matches came down to the final set. It was inspiring to watch our guys battle and respond to all the adversity being thrown at them. It was a complete team win today."

The Monarchs started the day claiming the doubles point with wins from No. 45 Jacob Nicolussi/Adam Moundir and Michael Weindl/Javier Jover Maestre.

Javier Jover Maestre made it a 2-1 lead for ODU with a three set victory over Max Cancilla, 6-0, 3-6, 6-1.

After dropping the first set, No. 32 Adam Moundir rallied to defeat Kyle Mautner, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4.

Aziz Kijametovic sealed the deal after downing Matt Nardella in No. 3 singles, 7-6, 6-7, 6-3.
