ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Old Dominion men’s soccer fell Friday night at New Mexico 2-0 in the Conference USA regular season finale. The Lobos scored two goals in the second half to improve to 10-6-1, 4-3-1 C-USA, while the Monarchs fall to 5-8-2, 2-5-1 in C-USA action.

Chris Wehan scored the first goal of the night on a penalty kick in the 58th minute of the match to get New Mexico on the scoreboard. Luke Lawrence scored the insurance goal off the double assist from Aaron Herrera and Patrick Khouri in the 82nd minute to go up 2-0 over ODU.

Alex Tiesenhausen tied his season-high nine saves. He recorded nine saves against Vermont back on Sept. 9. On the night, UNM dominated the stats lines with 16 shots to ODU’s five and held an 8-2 corner kick margin. Niko Klosterhalfen recorded three of ODU’s five shots, two coming on goal, while Amir Najib and Tyler Edwards collecting one apiece.

Old Dominion will return to action in the 2016 Conference USA Men’s Soccer Tournament on Wednesday, Nov. 9 in Huntington, W.Va. The Monarchs seeding and opponent has yet to be determined. All seeds and matchups will be announced Saturday night after the UAB vs. FIU match.
