NORFOLK, Va. -- The Old Dominion women's lacrosse team heads to Washington, D.C., for a matchup with American on Saturday, March 12, at 1 p.m. at American's Jacobs Field. 

A live video stream and live scoring will be available for fans, as well as a live in-game Twitter updates via @ODULacrosse.

Old Dominion (4-2) is coming off of a 17-14 loss at William & Mary on Wednesday. After trailing 10-4 at half, the Lady Monarchs mounted a late comeback, but ultimately fell short. Ashmore Standing paced the Lady Monarchs with a career-high seven goals, while Mary Margaret McCaleb recorded her highest scoring output of the season with three goals. Standing's seven-goal performance gives her 23 on the year, which leads the Atlantic Sun and ranks fourth in the NCAA.

Overall, ODU currently leads the Atlantic Sun in scoring offense (11.50 goals per game) and caused turnovers per game (12.50), which also ranks fifth in the country.

American (3-5) is riding a two-game losing skid heading into Saturday's contest, after falling to Boston University and Richmond in the past week. The Eagles' wins have come over Saint Joseph's, Wagner and Mount St. Mary's. 

The Eagles are led by senior midfielder Olivia Mangan, who leads the team in scoring with 24 points on 10 goals and 14 assists. Sophomore attacker Jennifer DeSimone is the leading goal-scorer for American with 20. 

SERIES HISTORY
This will be the 25th all-time meeting between Old Dominion and American. ODU leads the all-time series, 20-4, and defeated the Eagles, 7-6, last year in Norfolk. The teams first met in 1992.

MIDMAJOR LAX POLL
Old Dominion is ranked 23rd in the latest MidMajor Lax Top 25. The Lady Monarchs moved up two spots after being ranked 25th in last week's poll. The poll ranks the top 25 midmajor teams in the country.

'STANDING' OUT
Senior Ashmore Standing currently ranks fourth in the NCAA in goals this season with 23. The Virginia Beach native also ranks fourthth all-time in ODU history in career goals (130) and eighth in points (162). 2015 ODU Sports Hall of Fame inductee and three-time All-American Suzanne Wosczyna holds the school record in both categories (206 goals, 325 points).

WEEKLY HONORS
For the third consecutive week, a Lady Monarch has been named an Atlantic Sun Player of the Week. On Tuesday, the conference announced Connor Carson was named Defensive Player of the Week. The award is Carson's second of the year, after she was named Player of the Week two weeks ago. Last week, Maggi Buckley was named Co-Defensive Player of the Week.

PRESEASON ALL-CONFERENCE
A total of four Lady Monarchs were named to the preaseason All-Atlantic Sun team, voted on by the coaches. Goalkeeper Maggi Buckley, defender Morgan Gallagher, midfielder Connor Carson and attacker Ashmore Standing all earned the honor. Defender Missy Koscinski and attacker Morgan Marrale were both named to the preseason watch list. As a team, ODU was selected to finish second behind reigning champ Jacksonville.
