RICHMOND, Va. – The Old Dominion men’s golf team completed day one of two at the Janney VCU Shootout on Monday evening, as the first two rounds of the event were contested this afternoon, and the tournament will end with round three tomorrow. This is the first year that the event is being held at The Country Club of Virginia’s Tuckahoe Creek Course in Richmond, Virginia.
After two rounds, Old Dominion sits in ninth place after shooting a combined score of 588. The Monarchs collectively shot 298 in round one and improved their score to a 290 in the second round of action. Currently, James Madison is in first place while East Carolina and the host school, VCU, are tied for second.
Individually, Antonio Cruz-Conde leads the Monarchs, as he currently is tied for 24th place after shooting a 73 in both rounds. ODU’s Calvin Greschner and Nick Rencis are both tied for 35th place.
The Monarchs will close out action at the event tomorrow afternoon and will be back in action Sunday, Oct. 4 at the Firestone Invitational in Akron, Ohio.
