NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion University men’s tennis split into three different groups this weekend to compete in three different tournaments, all in which were highlighted by deep runs and success by the Tennis Monarchs, who were playing in their second competition of the 2015 fall season.

Who Competed Where?
Adam Moundir, Aziz Kijametovic, Jacob Nicolussi and Michael Weindl: Durham, N.C., where Duke played host to the James Bonk Invite.

Zvonimir Podvinski, Darragh Glavin and Theophile Lanthiez: Princeton, N.J., where they took part in the Ivy Plus Tournament.

It was Sam Perelman, David Botti, Justin Herrera and Jose Nunez Navarro: Saint Joseph's Fall Invitational, held in Philadelphia, Penn.

James Bonk Invite
In Durham, Adam Moundir won his first two matches of the weekend in singles play. With the back to back victories, Moundir advanced to the tournament’s semifinals, where he fell in a tight three setter to UNC’s Robert Kelly (6-3, 0-6, 6-2). Moundir ultimately claimed third place for the Blue Draw after defeating Jose Moreno Manzano from Radford (6-2, 6-2).

Freshman Aziz Kijametovic also shined Aljosa Piric’s Tennis Monarchs, as he got off to a 2-1 start in singles action. In the Consolation Finals, Kijametovic made quick work out of Louisville’s Santiago Salazar (6-2, 6-0).

Ivy Plus Tournament
In Princeton, after dropping his first match of the weekend, ODU’s Zvonimir Podvinski reeled off two consecutive wins to land himself a spot in the Consolation Finals against Yale’s Martin Svenning, where Podvinski prevailed after dropping the first set (5-7, 6-4, 10-3).

Saint Joseph's Fall Invitational
In Philadelphia, ODU freshmen Justin Herrera (2-2) and Jose Nunez Navarro both advanced to the Consolation Semifinals.
