NORFOLK, Va. - Four members of the Old Dominion University swimming and diving squad earned Scholar All-America honors,the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) announced on Wednesday.

Rachel Eckert earned Scholar All-America accolades after becoming the first ODU diver to qualify for the NCAA Championships. A native of Rochester, N.Y., Eckert won both the 1 and 3-meter dives at the Conference USA Championship. She qualified for the NCAA Championships with a third place in the 3-meter dive at the NCAA Zones. Eckert had a 3.72 GPA majoring in exercise science.

Reed Mathews, Edward Hubert and Julia Vido were named honorable mention Scholar All-America.

Vido finished third in the 100 breaststroke at the Conference USA Championships with a time of 1:02.44 and registered an NCAA B-Cut time. She is a mechanical engineering major with a 3.71 GPA.

Mathews set NCAA B-cut times in both the 100 and 200 fly and holds school records in both events.  He posts a 3.78 GPA in mechanical engineering.

Hubert recorded an NCAA B-cut time in the 200 breaststroke in a time of 1:57.89. He registered a 3.5 GPA in mechanical engineering this spring.
