IRVING, Texas - Twelve student-athletes have been named to the 2015 Conference USA Tennis All-Academic Teams, as voted by the league's Sports Information Directors for tennis. Honorees must hold a minimum 3.2 GPA and have competed in at least 75 percent of their team's scheduled matches. Ten of the selections hold GPA's of 3.75 or higher.

Old Dominion was of only two schools to have multiple selections as senior Carlos Lopez Villa and sophomore Ingrid Vojcinakova are honored.

Lopez Villa makes his third appearance to the academic team, holding a 3.78 GPA as a double-major in finance and economics. The Madrid, Spain, native has dominated for the nationally-ranked Monarchs with a 14-2 mark at singles and is 52-4 throughout the past three seasons.

Vojcinakova has an impressive 3.95 GPA as a civil engineering major and a stellar 15-4 record on the court. Vojcinakova has won eight of the past nine as well as 13 of her last 15 matches. She has been a Dean’s List recipient 3 out of 3 semesters. Vojcinakova has been named to the C-USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll and earned a C-USA Commissioner’s Academic Medal as well.

After placing the most student-athletes on the academic teams last year, Charlotte repeats with the most selections with four. Senior Alex Calott and junior Jordi Massalle Ferrer represent the 49ers on the men's team as both are repeat selections. The 2014 C-USA Men's Tennis Scholar-Athlete of the Year Calott has bettered his GPA from last year with a 3.97 in communication studies. Ferrer is undefeated this season at 18-0 and has been near perfect off the court as well, posting a 3.92 GPA as a finance and economics major.

Repeat honoree Lisa Grosselius and sophomore Victoria Pahlett are the Charlotte representatives on the women's squad. Grosselius has recorded a 4.0 semester GPA in five of seven completed semesters during her college career, while also ranking among the program's all-time top-20 for combined career victories. Pahlett has had a perfect 4.0 GPA in pre-business in each of her collegiate semesters since her arrival to Charlotte.

UAB senior Rachel Daniell is the only other repeat selection on the women's squad as this marks her third selection to the all-academic team. The Douglasville, Georgia, native has a 3.93 GPA in biology with a pre-medicine focus and has received a C-USA Commissioner's Academic Medal during each of her three seasons with the Blazers.

UTSA senior Joel Rubio is tabbed to the all-academic team. The Spaniard has a 3.61 GPA as a management major, while tallying nine wins this spring to help the Roadrunners crack the national ITA rankings. Southern Miss graduate Alex Doleac makes the men's team as he is a part of the Golden Eagle team that posted the school's most outstanding team GPA.

Florida Atlantic sophomore Bianca Biglione and North Texas graduate Franziska Sprinkmeyer both boast perfect 4.0 GPA's to garner women's academic selections. Biglione, a double-major in biological science and psychology, leads the Owls with a 13-2 mark in singles in 2015. Sprinkmeyer not only holds a spotless GPA while pursuing her degree in recreation, event and sport management, she also volunteers her time as a statistics tutor to help other Mean Green student-athletes.
