KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Senior diver Rachel Eckert won the 3-meter dive at the Conference USA Swimming and Diving Championships for the second-straight year with a score of 336.50 Thursday night in Knoxville.
Eckert won the 3-meter dive by 59 points and will compete in the 1-meter dive on Friday night.
Senior Yesim Giresunlu started the night with a 10th place finish in the 500 free while Bernardo Figueirdo took third with a time of 4:27.43.
In the 200 IM, Anton Mikaelsson took second with a time of 1:48.15 while Reed Mathews finished third in 1:49.10 and Carter Watson was fourth with a time of 1:49.46.
In the men’s 50 free, Jacob Zeidler notched fourth with a time of 20.41.
The women’s 200 free relay team of Morgan Johnson, Colleen VandePoel, Juliana dos Santos and Sofie Sjoberg took sixth in a school record time of 1:34.18.
The men’s 200 free relay team of Vitor Sa, Graham Thatcher, Jacob Zeidler and Edward Hubert took third in a time of 1:21.44, just a second out of first place.
Earlier in the day, Cory Moreno won the 1-meter dive.
The action starts up again tomorrow at 10:30 a.m.
