GREENVILLE, N.C. – Old Dominion University men’s and women’s swimming and diving fell at East Carolina Saturday evening in Greenville.
The Lady Monarchs fell 185-110 while the men fell 169-125.
Colleen VandePoel got the Lady Monarchs’ first win of the day in the 100 backstroke in a time of 58.19 while Elena Oujikanova came in second in a time of 1:00.15.
VandePoel finished in second in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:06.92.
MacKenzie Payment earned a second place finish in the 100 fly with a time of 59.03.
Savannah Bowers grabbed a victory in the 200 IM with a time of 2:12.40 while Julia Vido took second in a time of 2:12.58.
The meet finished with a win in the 400 free relay in a time of 3:36.19 with the team of Sofie Sjoberg, MacKenzie Payment, Stephanie Norris and Juliana dos Santos.
Rachel Eckert won the 1-meter dive with a score of 274.32 and took third in the 3-meter dive.
On the men’s side, Bernardo Figuiredo took second in the 1000 free with a time of 9:41.91.
Vitor Sa followed with a second place in the 200 free in a time of 1:42.63 while Anton Mikaelsson finished second in the 100 backstroke with a time of 52.23. Mikaelsson added a second place finish in the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:51.40.
Eddie Hubert took second in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 57.24 while finishing second in the 200 breaststroke.
Reed Mathews won ODU’s first event of the day in the 200 fly with a time of 1:51.89 while Chris Prewitt finished second. Mathews added a second victory in the 100 fly with a time of 50.95.
Sophomore Jacob Zeidler added a second place in the 50 free and won the 100 free in a time of 47.29.
The Monarchs finished the day with a win in the 400 free relay with the team of Graham Thatcher, Jacob Zeidler, Eddie Hubert and Vitor Sa in a time of 3:07.30.
