ODUSports.com takes a deeper look into ODU's 17-3 win over Eastern Michigan.

· The win comes in the first FBS home game at Foreman Field at S.B. Ballard Stadium and is the second FBS win in school history.

· Leading the way Saturday was the Old Dominion defense.  The three points allowed was the lowest in school history while the 215 total yards allowed was the fourth fewest in a game.

· The defense forced two more turnovers in the game, fumbles recovered by Andrew Everett and Gary Scruggs.

· ODU notched three more sacks to give them 10 on the year.  They finished with 21 sacks in 2013.  Chris Smith, Terrell Reid and Poncho Barnwell had the sacks.  Barnwell leads the team with 3.5 sacks this year.

· Ray Lawry’s 55-yard touchdown run in the first quarter was the fourth longest run in school history.

· Taylor Heinicke punted three times for an average of 50.0, the sixth highest average while his 66-yard fourth quarter punt was the third longest in school history.

· Antonio Vaughan had a fantastic day returning punts for the Monarchs.  In the third quarter he returned one 51-yards for a touchdown, however, a holding penalty brought it back, while the return accounted for 24 yards and led to an ODU field goal.  In the fourth quarter, Vaughan broke open the game with a 46-yard punt return touchdown, the second of his career and his 27th career touchdown.  He trails just Thomas DeMarco and Nick Mayers in career touchdowns.  DeMarco and Mayers had 30 career scores for ODU.

· With 85 rushing yards, Gerard Johnson moved into seventh all-time with 654 yards.
