The last two ODU team MVP's, Ben Verlander ('13) and Josiah Burney ('14) had impressive weeks with their new minor league teams.  Lefthander Kyle Hald ('11) was selected to the Texas League All-Star game. He is 9-3 with a 3.15 ERA for the AA Springfield Cardinals.

Former ODU All-American Ben Verlander hit two homers and knocked in 7 runs Tuesday for the Connecticut Tigers in the New York-Penn League while ODU Team MVP and second team All-C-USA firstbaseman Josiah Burney hit a homer for his new team, the Lake Erie Crushers.

Burney, the Monarchs team MVP this past season is hitting .357 in five games with a homer and three RBI. The Crushers are in the same division as the Washington Wild Things, Evansville Otters, Southern Illinois Miners, the Florence Freedom, Traverse City Beach Bums and the Frontier Greys of the Frontier League.

Verlander is hitting .342 in 10 games since being moved back to Connecticut.
