NEWARK, Del. - No. 20/22 Delaware registered a season-high in points and assists on Thursday night as they overwhelmed the Old Dominion University women's basketball team at the Bob Carpenter Center, 86-62.

Despite 20 points and six rebounds from sophomore Shakeva Richards, but the Blue Hens responded behind the CAA's all-time leading scorer and unanimous preseason All-American Elena Delle Donne who scored 17 of Delaware's final 26 points in the first half to take a 41-28 lead into halftime.

Delle Donne scored a game-high 26 points on 9-of-14 shooting with seven rebounds, six assists, three blocks and two steals as she became the CAA's all-time leader in field goals and free throws on Thursday evening. 

Senior Jackie Cook scored in double digits for the 17th time this season and the 40th time in her career as she added 12 points, five rebounds and two assists before fouling out with 2:01 remaining in the game. Richards would also foul out for ODU, who was already down starting point guard Ashley Betz-White after she suffered a mild concussion on Tuesday night against James Madison.

The Blue Hens had a 37-27 advantage on the boards and 34-16 edge in points in the paint. Goodhope had five points and four assists as did junior Stephanie Gardner while sophomore Tiffany Minor scored eight points and collected four rebounds and a steal. ODU shot 18-of-22 (81.8 percent) from the free throw line including a season-best 10-of-11 from Kelley

Danielle Parker added 13 points and six boards while Lauren Carra pumped in 15 points and eight rebounds for the Blue Hens.

Old Dominion returns home to the Ted Constant Convocation Center for a three-game home series beginning Sunday with the 11th annual Hoops for the Cure game at 2 p.m. against Northeastern.
