ATHENS, GREECE-- Senior Nick Wright scored 26 points with 20 rebounds, while sophomore Dimitri Batten added 19 points and junior Donte Hill scored 17 points to lead the Monarchs to a 74-38 win over Doukas Club at the Doukas College arena. The Monarchs were forced to play and dress only five players for duty as the rest of the squad (except for the injured Richard Ross) came down with intestinal virus symptoms.

"This was definitely a character builder," said ODU head coach Blaine Taylor. "The guys gutted it out tonight. We knew we had to play smart and with only five players available, we had to stay out of early foul trouble. Donte Hill had a fine all-around game for us. "

The Monarchs led by just one after the first quarter, 18-17, then upped it to 37-28 at halftime. In the second half ODU shut down their opponents to just 10 points, including only two in the fourth and final quarter.

Monarch freshman center Ekene Anachebe scored eight points, but blocked 10 shots and hauled down 13 boards. Donte Hill dished out seven assists and came up with four steals along with 13 rebounds.

Batten dished out five assists and hit five three-pointers, while Nick Wright scored 17 of his game high 26 points, shooting 12-for-20 from the field. Freshman Stuart McEwen added six ponts and 10 rebounds.

ODU shot .440( 32-73) for the game and .538 (21-39) in the second half. Doukas was just 14-68 in the game for .205. In the first half, they were 16-34 for .471 from the field.

ODU will finish out the tour with its fourth and final game Thursday against Filathlikos.
