NORFOLK, Va. - Thirteen members of the 2011 Old Dominion University Field Hockey team were named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) National Academic Squad.
The National Academic Squad recognizes those student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2011-12 academic year.
Senior forward Emma Batten (Oxford, UK), junior midfielder Danielle Clutter (Chambersburg, Pa.), senior back Rebecca Condie (Andover, UK), freshman goalkeeper Megan Hept (Chesapeake, Va.), junior midfielder Julie Hodge (Downingtown, Pa.), redshirt senior midfielder Stephanie Kratzer (Lititz, Pa.), junior forward Kimberly Oakes (West Chester, Pa.), senior goalkeeper Maria Petriello (Harleysville, Pa.), senior goalkeeper Devon Seifert (Marmora, N.J.), freshman defender Kelsey Smither (Suffolk, Va.), junior forward Maartje van Rijswijk (Virginia Beach, Va.), freshman midfielder Lydia Velzian (Hamilton, NZ) and freshman forward Caitlin Walsh (Downingtown, Pa.) all were to this year's team.
Kratzer and Petriello, both seniors, were named to the squad for the fourth consecutive year for Old Dominion.
