Devon Seifert Season 2009

 

2011 (Senior):Second Team All-CAA...Second Team All-State... Started all 25 games in goal for the Lady Monarchs and recorded CAA-best eight shutouts on the season to go with a record of 22-3... Recorded 45 saves and allowed just 1.07 goals per game which ranked sixth-best in the NCAA...Named CAA Player of the Week on Sept. 13 after shutting out Ohio State on the road and letting in just one goal in ODU's 2-1 victory over No. 5 Syracuse...Recorded the first shutout of Maryland since November 11, 2007 as ODU blanked the defending national champions, 4-0 (Sept. 2).

2010 (Junior): First team All-State...Started 18 games for the Lady Monarchs and posted a solid 12-6 record...Registered 87 saves on the year and boasted a 1.64 goals against average...Led the CAA with seven shutouts...Recorded nine saves in her first career start at #1 North Carolina (Sept. 17)...Won her first career game in a 2-1 ODU victory at #9 Duke (Sept. 19)...Named CAA Player of the Week on Sept. 21...Recorded four straight shutouts against Northeastern, No. 11 Boston University, Delaware and Towson...Named womensfieldhockey.com National Player of the Week on September 30th.

2009 (Sophomore): Provided depth for ODU's goalkeeping unit.

2008 (Freshman): Redshirted.

Prior to Old Dominion:Named to the ODU Honors College....Four-year member of the field hockey squad as goalkeeper at Ocean City High School...Ended high school career with a 72-6-6 overall record...Tied her school's shutout record with 19 as a sophomore....Ended career with 53 shutouts...Her 53 shutouts place her first in the state of New Jersey and ninth nationally...Co-captain...Team won the Cape Atlantic League championship all four years...Member of the two-time state champions and State Group III champions in 2005...Also a member of the USFHAFutures Program...Honor roll student.

Personal: Born July 23, 1990...Daughter of Ross and Carol Seifert...Has two sisters, Kelly (27) and Taryn (17), and two brothers, Sean (22) and Adam (21)...Plans to major in nursing.
