NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion University men's tennis won its fourth-straight match on Sunday with a 7-0 victory over Delaware at the Folkes-Stevens Indoor Tennis Center.
The Monarchs started strong by sweeping doubles. Fahoum Fahoum and Can Cetinel won 8-4 at No. 1 while Krzysztof Muzalewski and Alfredo Rodriguez to an 8-2 win at No. 3 while Carlos Lopez Villa and Albert Ochagavia earned a hard fought 9-7 win at No. 2.
Lopez Villa kept the momentum from doing doubles into singles action with a 6-4, 6-2 triumph over Adam Lawton at No. 2.
Muzalewski came back after dropping his first set to Troy Beneck to complete the three-set victory, 6-7, 6-2, 6-4.
Ochagavia clinched the team victory with a 6-4, 7-6 win at No. 3 singles.
Wesley Barrett won a three set match 6-7, 6-3, 6-3 while Can Cetinel picked up a 7-5, 6-1 win at No. 5.
Alfredo Rodriguez and Jason Derene ended the match with another hard fought match as Rodriguez won 6-4, 4-6 (12-10). Derene went up in the tie-breaker 9-5 but Rodrgiuez battled back for the win.
ODU is back in action March 29 when they host Temple.
