NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion University head coach Bobby Wilder has announced several key dates for the Monarch football program this spring.

The Monarchs will begin spring workouts on Saturday, March 24th and continued through the end of April totaling 15 practices, culminating in the annual Spring Game. 

ODU will hold an open practice on Saturday, April 14th at 1 p.m. and host its annual Spring Game on Saturday, April 21st at 3 p.m.  Both the Open Practice and Spring Game will be held at Foreman Field at S.B. Ballard Stadium.

* With the exception of the Open Practice on Saturday, April 14th and the Spring Game on Saturday, April 21st, all practices are closed to the public.

FOOTBALL SEASON TICKET RENEWAL: Fans who ordered their 2011 football season tickets online can renew for 2012 now by logging into their accounts at www.coxtix.com. Information for the upcoming season has been loaded into all existing online season ticket accounts. Fans who did not order online last year may do so this year by requesting their pin numbers from the box office. For more information, call 683-4444. 

PRO DAY - Wednesday March 14th: Seven Monarch seniors, defensive tackle Ronnie Cameron, wide receiver Prentice Gill, quarterback Thomas DeMarco, offensive linemen Ryan Jensen and Jeremy Hensley, defensive lineman Edmon McClam and linebacker J.J. Williams will work out in front of pro scouts.  This event is closed to the public.  Media wishing to attend are asked to contact the Old Dominion Athletic Communications Office.

LITTLE FEET MEET - ODU Special Olympics - April 17th:  The ODU Football Monarchs will once against join with students from the Disabilities and Aging in Therapeutic Recreation course at Old Dominion University for the third annual ODU Special Olympics, dubbed the "Little Feet Meet" at Foreman Field at S.B. Ballard Stadium.  Last year's event had close to 200 elementary school children from the Norfolk Public School participating in 18 events to help students develop their physical skills, display their talents, and have fun.

SAVE A LIFE - Bone Marrow Registration - April 19th: Taking place in the Hampton/Newport News Room in Webb Center from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. the Monarchs will once again partner with the National Marrow Donor Program looking to add ODU students, faculty, staff and members of the surrounding community to the bone marrow registry. Over the last three years, more than 650 people have been added to the national registry to become potential live saving donors. More than 6,000 people are searching the national registry each day for a donor match. The test is a cheek swab. There is no cost and the test takes no more than 20 minutes.
