NORFOLK, VA-- The ODU Monarchs defeated Towson,75-38 in before a crowd of 7048 at the Constant Center as all 11 players scored. ODU improves to 8-8 overall and 3-1 in the CAA, while the Tigers drop to 0-16 and 0-4 in the CAA.

Kent Bazemore led all scorers with 14 points and added five rebounds,and five assists. Red-shirt freshman Dimitri Batten scored 11 points, while fellow red-shirtfreshman Richard Ross scored a career high nine points along with a career high fivesteals. Nick Wright and freshman Jason Pimentel scored eight points each as well followed by senior Marquel De Lancey with six points and game high six assists.

Towson led early in the game, 8-7, but after Kent Bazemore hit a three-pointer toput ODU up 10-8 for good, the Monarchs never looked back. The Monarchs proceededto build at 23 point lead, 32-9 with 3:40 left in the first half after two freethrows by Marquel De Lancey, outscoring the Tigers 22-1 during that nine minute stretch.

ODU led at halftime, 38-17 after shooting .500 (14-28) from the field, while theTigers were shooting .333 (6-18) along with 14 turnovers. ODU had eight stealsat halftime led by Ross and De Lancey with two each.

In the second half, the Monarchs shot .600 (15-25) from the field and finishedthe game at .547 (29-53). ODU dominated the boards, 36-26 as Chris Cooper led withseven in just 18 minutes of playing time.

Towson finished the night shooting .310 (13-42) from the floor, and 22 turnovers.Robert Nwankwo led Towson with 11 points, five blocked shots and seven rebounds, followed by Deon Jones with 10 points. Towson now owns the NCAA Division I recordfor consecutive losses with 35.

ODU dished out a season high 23 assists and 16 steals. The steals ties the ConstantCenter record set in 2004 against St. Joseph's. The Monarchs improved its home record to 5-4. In nine home games, ODU is averaging 7,462 fans per game.

Not only did every Monarch who played scored, but each had atleast one reboundon the night.

Senior Kent Bazemore now has 1097 career points which places him 38th all-time onODU's all-time list just ahead of DePaul head coach Oliver Purnell ('75). With thethree steals, he now has 215 which ties him with current ODU Director of operationsDrew Williamson ('07).

The 38 points by Towson was the fewest at the Constant Center since the Monarchs held UMES to 39 and Northeastern to 34 last season.

ODU returns hits the road Wednesday night for a 7 p.m. CAA match-up at the University of Delaware, then returns home next Saturday for a 12 noon ComCast Sportsnet televised game against Hofstra which will be Alumni weekend.
