NEW LONDON, Conn. - The Old Dominion sailing team put forth another strong weekend of sailing in various regattas this past weekend, highlighted by its win at the Senators Cup and the women qualifying for a spot in the ACC's later this year.

The Monarchs needed a huge push Sunday to win the Senators Cup and qualify for the War Memorial from the South region of the conference. ODU finished no lower than second in the final seven races with four wins to edge second-place finisher Navy by 19 points.

Gavin Rudolph and Jill Fattibene finished first in A-Division racing, while Collin Leon and Haley Garst claimed second in B-Division sailing.

Other school's qualifying for the War Memorial were St. Mary's, Virginia and Georgetown.

At the MAISA Women's Fall Regatta, ODU finished seventh, good enough to qualify for the Women's ACC's in November.

The Lady Monarchs finished sixth in both divisions of sailing with Corina Radtke and Jordan Stock in the A-boat and Rachel Austin and Rachel Pokorny in the B-Boat. ODU won a pair of A-Division races and posted 10 Top 5 finishes on the weekend.

Old Dominion also competed in the Danmark Trophy Regatta, finishing 16th out of 20 teams. Dillon Paiva and Chloe Constants finished 12th in A-Division racing, while Scott Hoffmann, Brady Stagg and Emily Reich combined for a 16th-place result in B-Division.

ODU returns to the water October 8-9 in four different competitions, including the Navy Fall Women's Intersectional and the MAISA Men's Singlehanded Championships.
