Monarchs Finish Seventh at Navy Fall Intersectional

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Old Dominion sailed to a seventh-place finish at the Navy Fall Intersectional in a very competitive 18-team field in Annapolis, Md. The Lady Monarchs were unable to sail at the Yale Intersectional because of wind issues on both days.

In the four divisions of sailing, ODU's best result was sixth-place in the singlehanded D-Division with Evan Hoffmann. The sophomore had six Top 10 results, including a win in the 15th race.

The Monarchs finished eighth in both of the top division of sailing. Dillon Paiva skippered the A-Divsion boat along with Chloe Constants and Brady Stagg, while Scott Hoffmann and Gavin Rudolph split duties along with Emily Reich in the B-Division boat.

Between the two division of racing, ODU recorded 12 Top 10 results and a win in the 12th B-Division race with Reich and Rudolph in the boat.

In the other singlehanded fleet, Collin Leon finished 12th with a win and six Top 10 finishes.

The sailing Monarchs are back in action October 22-23 at the Hoyt Trophy, MAISA Sloops and MAISA Open.
