NORFOLK, VA--Old Dominion junior shortstop Josh Wright, this week's CAA Player of the Week pickedup where he left off with four RBI, three hits including a home run to lead the Monarchs (15-16) to a13-5 win over cross town rival Norfolk State Wednesday evening at the Bud Metheny Complex.

With the score tied 1-1, Wright slammed his 10th homer of the season with Brent Frazier aboard to give ODU a 3-1 lead in the fourth. The Monarchs scored five more runs in the fifth highlighted by two RBI'son a Kenny Stoneback double.

Besides Wright's multi-hit night, Brandon Shelton, Brent Frazier, Shawn Sizemore and Nate Hartman Each had two hits. Shelton, Chris Baker, Sizemore and Josh Tutwiler each scored twice.

ODU senior Joe Haumacher picked up his first win of the season as he pitched five-plus innings. Dean Ali, Ben Tomchick and Brian Bashara picthed the final three-plus innings, giving up no runs.

The Spartans were led by Chris Warren with three hits, while James Taylor, John Lynch and Chris Joycehad two hits each. Joyce hit a solo homer to lead off the Spartans four-run sixth inning. Taylor also knocked in two runs.

The Monarchs return to action this weekend when they host Towson in a three-game CAA series beginning Friday at 7 p.m. which is "Flood the Bud" night. Towson is 6-6in the CAA, while ODU is 7-5.
