Women's Soccer Opens Four Game Home Stand on Friday

NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion University women's soccer begins a four-game home stand starting this Friday when they host Northeastern at 7 p.m. and continues on Sunday when they host Hofstra at 1 p.m.

About the Lady Monarchs
Old Dominion (3-8-1, 1-5) picked up its third win of the year in dramatic fashion last Saturday, as they beat Delaware in overtime on Meghan Cozens' first career game-winner. With the overtime win, ODU improved to 2-1-1 in overtime games this season.

Freshman Amber Cook leads the team in goals and points with eight, while Jocelyn Weidner is second on the squad with three goals and seven points.

Seven Lady Monarchs have started every game so far this season, including Cook, Weidner, Rachael Carroll, Kirstin Walker, Ashley Kukura, Nikki Clarke and Brianna Alvarado. Victoria Johnson, Kelly Evans, Kate Kelly, Ashlee Coutu and Kelsey Williams have played in every game.

About the Huskies
Northeastern comes into Friday with a 7-5-1 overall record and 2-3-1 record in the CAA.

Greta Samuelsdottir leads the team with seven goals and 17 points while Veronica Napoli is second with six goals and 14 points.

Michelle Sopko is 7-3-1 in goal, making 53 saves and posting a 1.07 goals against average.

About the Pride
After losing to No. 7 Boston College 3-0 in its season opener, Hofstra has won 12-straight, and is 6-0 in the CAA.Salma Tarik leads Hofstra with eight goals and 18 points. Laura Greene is second on the team with five goals and 12 points.

Krista Thorn is undefeated in goal with an 8-0 mark, making 12 saves and posting a 0.65 GAA.
