ODU Hosts Delaware In Final Home CAA Series

NORFOLK, VA-- The ODU Baseball Monarchs host the Fightin' Blue Hens of Delaware in a three-game CAA series beginning Friday night at 7 p.m.

Delaware is led by senior infielder Carlos Alonso with a .409 batting average alongwith 13 homers and 43 runs batted in. Outfielder Josh Dean leads the team with13 stolen bases and 54 runs scored.

On the mound the Fightin' Blue Hens are led by Michael Londino with a 5-4 record while Brian Rorick is fourth in the CAA in strikeouts with 67.

The Monarchs Kyle Hald is tied for the CAA lead in wins with seven (7-4) and leads the league in strikeouts with 83 in 84.2 innings of work. He has a CAA best fourcomplete games and ranks fourth in ERA at 2.66.

Donnie Corsner leads the CAA in walks with 42 and the team with 44 runs scored.Chris Buss has a team best 50 hits and 17 doubles.

Chris Baker is hitting .361 with 16 doubles, six homers and 41 RBI. Kenny Stoneback is second on the team wtih a .323 batting average, Jake McAloose at .322 and John Malbon at .301. McAloose leads the Monarchs with seven homeruns.

Delaware leads the series, 11-8 and beat ODU two our of three last year in Newark,DE.

Kyle Hald is scheduled to throw for ODU on Friday with Chris Boggs on Saturday andBen Tomchick on Sunday. UD is scheduled to go with Nick Young on Friday, Matt Sorenon Saturday and Brian Rorick on Sunday.
