NORFOLK, VA--Junior righthander C.J. Huyett (Lawrenceville, PA.) tossed a no-hitter, walking just one and striking out 11 in Old Dominion's 18-0 win over Maryland-Eastern Shore Tuesday afternoon at the Bud Metheny Baseball Complex.

Huyett faced only one batter over the limit in tossing ODU's 13th no-hitter in school's history, but The first since Brian Brantley's no-hitter against James Madison on March 15, 1997.

The only Hawk to reach first base was designated hitter Bryan Chaikowsky who walked with two outs in the fourth inning. Huyett struck out the first five batters he faced in the game.

The Monarchs pounded out 20 base hits led by sophomore firstbaseman Chris Baker (Chesapeake, Va.) with five, including a school record tying four doubles. He equals the mark set by Jude Donato in 1994 against Richmond and Mike Zahm in 2007 against Iona. Baker also extended his hitting streak to 22 games which is the seventh longest in the nation this season.

Senior designated hitter John Malbon (Virginia Beach, Va.) had four hits on the day, while Malbon, Baker, Nathan Hartman (Orlando, Fl.) and Donnie Corsner (Virginia Beach, Va.) each knocked in three runs. Every Monarch hitter got atleast one hit today.

Senior thirdbaseman Jake McAloose slammed his team best seventh home run of the season with one out in the second inning. McAloose scored five times today.

The Monarchs return to action Wednesday night when they host Longwood at 6 p.m.
