NORFOLK, VA-- Matt Quatraro ('96), a member of the ODU Sports Hall of Fame ismanaging the Class A Bowling Green Hot Rods of the South Atlantic League.

2006 All-CAA pitcher Jason Godin ('06) is with Class A Wilmington (Kansas City Royals).

Matt Quatraro BIOwill serve as the inaugural manager for the Bowling Green Hot Rods in 2009. This will be his second year as manager for a full-season affiliate, following the 2008 season with the Rays' previous South Atlantic League squad in Columbus, GA. After the 2008 season, he served as the 3rd base coach for Leones del Caracas in the Venezuelan Winter League.
In 2008, Quatraro's Catfish team put together an overall record of 67-69 in the SAL Southern Division. While his team did not make the playoffs, the Catfish had the 3rd-best winning percentage in the second half of the season, going 40-26 for a .606 mark.
Prior to Columbus, Quatraro managed the Rays' Short Season Single-A Hudson Valley Renegades in 2006 and 2007. Those two seasons were preceded by coaching stints with Hudson Valley in 2004 and 2005.
Quatraro's coaching career began in 2003, serving as Tampa Bay's catching instructor after playing seven seasons in the Rays' minor league system. During his playing career, he hit .286 with 202 RBI in 415 games.
An eighth round draft pick out of Old Dominion University in 1996, where he hit.400 for his career. He was named All-CAA three times and earned All-Americanhonors by the ABCA and Collegiate Baseball in 1996. He is a member of the ODUSports Hall of Fame. The graduate of ODU with a degree in History was also selectedfirst team CoSIDA Academic All-American in 1996.
Quatraro became the first Rays' minor league player to join the organization's coaching staff. He currently resides in Albany, NY.
