Maryland Defeats ODU, 6-5 In 10 Innings

COLLEGE PARK, MD-- The Universtity of Maryland(25-18) scored an unearned run in the bottom of the 10thto defeat Old Dominion (18-20), 6-5 Tuesday evening.

The Monarchs jumped out ot a 4-0 lead in the second. Gerard Hall singled home David Burns for the firstrun, then Donnie Corsner doubled home Hall and Jake McAloose. Senior centerfielder Jimmy Miles doubled home Corsnerfor the fourth run of the inning.

In the fourth inning, Chris Keenan's groundout plated Gerard Hall from third.

Maryland rallied with a four spot in the bottom of the fourth when A.J. Casario hit a two-out grandslam home run.It was his sixth homer of the season.

The Terps tied the game in the seventh when Will Greenberg singled home Jensen Pupa who led the inningoff with a double.

ODU threatened in the eighth with the bases loaded. Gerard Hall reached on a fielders' choice with two outs. Corsnerthen reached on an infield hit and Chris Keenan was hit with a pitch, but the Monarchs failed to score.

In the Maryland 10th Nick Jowers walked and advanced to second on a wild pitch. He then scored fromsecond when ODU's firstbaseman dropped the ball.

Sophomore Gerard Hall led ODU with three hits and he stole two bases. Jimmy Miles and Donnie Corsnereach had two hits on the night.

Will Greenburg led Maryland with three hits, while AJ Casario knocked in four runs for the Terps.ODU returns to action Wednesday night when they host Liberty at 6 p.m.
