NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- The Old Dominion women's tennis team fell 6-1 to #47 South Alabama on Sunday at Huntington Park. The loss drops the Lady Monarchs 15-5 overall.
Old Dominion's lone point came from freshman Daniela Cohen at No. 6 singles. She defeated Yana Kokareva in straight sets, 6-1, 6-3.
Although South Alabama did take the doubles point, the Lady Monarchs did emerge with a No. 2 doubles victory. The ODU duo of Larissa Santos and Jana Kubieikova teamed for an 8-4 win over Jelena Krivacevic and Rita Frietas.
The Old Dominion women's tennis team returns to action on Friday against No. 28 Virginia Commonwealth.
