NORFOLK, Va. -- The Old Dominion women's tennis team improved to 16-6 overall and 6-3 in Colonial Athletic Asssociation (CAA) action on Sunday by sweeping through all three doubles and six singles matches in a 7-0 blanking of UNC-Wilmington.
Two Lady Moanrchs captured 6-0 sets in the victory. Charleen Haarhoff at the top spot collceted a 6-0, 7-5 win over the Seahawk's Molly Molony and Daniela Cohen posted a 6-0, 6-3 victory over Lauren Isenhour at the No. 5 spot.
Other singles winners included a 6-3, 6-3 victory by Fernanda Luiz at No. 2 singles against Priscilla Roberts, a 6-1, 6-4 win by Larissa Santos against Kayla Schwenk at the No. 3 position, a 6-4, 6-2 decision with Barbara Costa defeating Cassie Martin at the No. 4 spot, and a 6-3, 6-1 victory by Linda Garder over Hartley Collins at No. 6 singles.
In doubles action, Fernanda Luiz and Charleen Haarhoff teamed for an 8-3 win over Molly Molony and Priscilla Roberts at the No. 1 spot. At No. 2 doubles, Barbara Costa and Daniela Cohen teamed for an 8-5 decision over UNC-W's Lauren Isenhous and Kayla Schwenk. No. 3 doubles saw Linda Garder and jana Kubieikova combine for an 8-6 victory over Cassie Martin and Jaime de Graffenreid.
