RADIO: For the 16th-straight season ESPN Radio (1310 am - Norfolk, Va.) will be broadcasting all the Lady Monarch contests. Thirteen-time sportscaster of the Year Tony Mercurio will call all the action. Former Lady Monarch and ODU Hall of Fame inductee, Adrienne Goodson and former assistant coach Susan Montgomery will join Mercurio and add color commentary at all home games at the Ted Constant Convocation Center. A monthly fee of $6.95 through the College Pass program, which also provides the audio and video broadcasts of over 100 colleges and universities, will allow fans to listen to the broadcast online at www.odusports.com.
ABOUT OLD DOMINION: The Old Dominion women's basketball team has won seven straight heading into Thursday's meeting at Georgia State. The Lady Monarchs moved into first place in the CAA for the first time this season as they earned victories over George Mason and No. 22/25 James Madison last week. Last Thursday's 80-52 victory against the Patriots was never in doubt as ODU opened the game on an 8-0 run. The Lady Monarchs held a 41-19 lead at the half and held as much as a 29-point lead midway through the second half. Junior T.J. Jordan finished the night with 15 points and connected on a three-pointer, her third of final of the night, at the 4:39 mark to reach the 1,000 point mark. She became the 25th Lady Monarch in ODU history to reach the 1,000 career point milestone. Sophomore Tiffany Green also concluded the night with 15 points and captured her team-leading third double-double of the season as she hauled in 11 boards. Old Dominion then took over the top spot in the CAA standings with a 62-57 win over the ranked Dukes, giving the Lady Monarchs their first victory over a ranked opponent in five attempts. The victory also upped ODU's overall record at the Constant Center to 65-12 and 13-2 for the 2006-07 season as they played in their final regular season home game. Senior Sherida Triggs poured in a game-high 15 points in her final regular season appearance at the Ted Constant Convocation Center. Jordan currently leads the Lady Monarchs in scoring averaging 14.6 points per game, ranking 10th in the CAA in the category. She also is third in the country in three-point field goals made averaging 3.1 per game. Green leads ODU's rebounding corps with 6.4 per game. She is 19th in the conference.
ABOUT GEORIGA STATE: The Lady Panthers of Georgia State enter Thursday's game with a 15-13 overall and 7-10 CAA record having lost their last four straight games. The Lady Panthers are currently sitting in eighth place in the league standings. Georgia State has four players averaging double figures led by Kelcy Roegiers-Jensen at 18.0 points per game and ranking third in the league in scoring. Following Roegiers-Jensen on the stat sheet is Marcquitta Head at 10.9 points per game along with a team-leading 8.4 rebounds per game. Her rebounding average lands her seventh in the conference. Along pouring in double figures are Tabith David at 10.3 points per game and Brittany Hollins at 10.2 points per game.
SERIES WITH GEORGIA STATE: Thursday's game with Georgia State will be the fourth meeting in the young rivalry as the Lady Monarchs became CAA members last season. Old Dominion won the last meeting 75-54 on January 11th in Norfolk.
LAST TIME VS. GEORGIA STATE: The Old Dominion women's basketball team improved to .500 on the season with a 75-54 victory over a visiting Georgia State squad on January 11th at the Ted Constant Convocation Center. Old Dominion held a 34-16 advantage marking the lowest scoring output by a Lady Monarch opponent this season. The 18 point ODU halftime lead also tied the Lady Monarchs largest halftime lead this year. Old Dominion also held an 18-point, 35-17 advantage over Chicago State in head coach Wendy Larry's 500th career victory over Chicago State back on December 9th. Additionally, the Lady Panthers tied its season low for scoring in a half with its 16 points. Georgia State also had 16 at Georgia Tech and against Tennessee-Martin. Georiga State only held the lead once with Brittany Hollins scoring on the opening bucket. From there, the Lady Monarch raced out on a 10-0 run and never looked back. Lady Panther leading scorer and Preseason Second Team All-CAA selection Kelcey Roegiers-Jensen hit one of two free throw attempts at the 12:11 mark to trail ODU 13-7, but Georgia State would not get any closer. From there Georgia State was held scoreless for nearly four minutes as junior Shahida Williams rattled off the first five points of a 8-0 Lady Monarch run. The Old Dominion defense helped hold Georgia State to just seven field goals as they went 7-of-30 from the field in the opening half shooting only 23.3 percent. The second half saw Old Dominion expand its lead as a many as 25. Lady Monarch three-point specialist T.J. Jordan, who only connected on two shots from downtown, hit her second and final three to give Old Dominion a 67-42 lead with 6:38 left. Three Lady Monarchs reached double digits in the victory led by senior Sherida Triggs with 16. Williams poured in 15 while senior Tish Lyons added in 10 from off the bench. Sophomore Jazzmin Walters dished out eight assists and registered four steals, tying career highs in both categories.

BACK TO THE POLLS: The Lady Monarchs are receiving votes in both the Associated Press and WBCA/ESPN/USA Today Polls. Its the first time since the preseason poll in the beginning of the year that Old Dominion has been featured in both polls at the same time.
FROM DOWNTOWN : Junior guard T.J. Jordan is third in the country in three-point field goals made with 3.1 per game and is 69th in three-point field goal percentage at .356. She has 1,009 career points which puts 25th on the all-time scoring list She has 83 three-point field goals this season and 225 for her career. Aubrey Eblin holds the school record in both categories with 97 treys made during the 1997-98 season and 250 made during her career.
UP NEXT:Old Dominion has one regular season game left. The Lady Monarchs travel to UNC-Wilmington for its first and only meeting with the Seahawks on Saturday, March 3rd at 2:00 p.m. The CAA Tournament will get under beginning with the play-in games on Thursday of next week at the Bob Carpenter Center in Newark, Delaware.
