ODU VS. HOFSTRA
Series: ODU leads, 7-5
First Meeting: 1993-94, ODU wins, 92-66 in the UCSB Tournament.
Last Meeting: Hofstra defeated the Monarchs for the second straight time at home, 76-68 in front of a crowd of 6,716. Loren Stokes led Hofstra with 27 points, while Carlos Rivera added 17. ODU was led by Isaiah Hunter with 21 and Alex Loughton with 14 points and ten boards. Hofstra outrebounded ODU, 43-25 as Aurimas Kieza hauled down 15 for the Pride.

LAST GAME
ODU lost at George Mason, 66-47. The Patriots shot a blistering .750 (15-20) from the field in the first half. ODU shot .383 for the game and committed a season high 20 turnovers. Valdas Vasylius led ODU with 13 points, while Drew Williamson added 11 points, three steals and led the team with six rebounds.

THIS DATE IN ODU HISTORY
Feb. 2, 1994, ODU defeats W&M 105-72 as Odell Hodge scored 20 points and hauled in ten rebounds. Mike Jones and Kevin Swann added 18 points each.

APPROACHING MILESTONES
Senior Isaiah Hunter became the 41st Monarch to break the 1,000 career point mark. He did it in the first half of the VMI game and now has 1278 career points (ranks 22th). Alex Loughton has 1471 career points and 842 careerrebounds. He currently ranks 15th. In rebounding, Loughton ranks 9th, and has five double-doubles this year.

Brandon Johnson
At approximately 10pm, Wednesday, January 25, ODU men's basketball player Brandon Johnson was shot as he exited hisresidence in the University Village Apartments. Brandon was treated at Norfolk General for a fractured right clavicle and released. He will miss action until he is re-evaluated in approximately five to six weeks.

Old Dominion University Police are assising the Norfolk Police Department in the investigation, which is ongoing.The University has expanded its policing and security coverage of the entire campus.
