NORFOLK, VA-- Junior forward Valdas Vasylius, and seniors Alex Loughtonand Isaiah Hunter each scored over 20 points in the annual Blue-Whitescrimmage game.
Loughton and Vasylius helped the blue squad win both halves. Loughton,a third team pre-season All-American by STREET & SMITH'S magazine andpre-season Player of the Year in the CAA tallied 24 totrals points withsix reounds. Vasylius added 22 points with six rebounds. Isaiah Hunterscored 23 points with eight rebounds, four assists in a losing cause forthe white squad.
Also scoring in double figures were junior forward Arnaud Dahi with14 points and seven rebounds, Drew Williamson with 12 points,and five assists. John Morris led the teams with seven assists.
Freshman Jonathan Adams (Chattanooga, Tn.) hauled in seven rebounds and scored five points. 7-3 Sam Harris added six points.
Overall, The Monarchs shot a combined .478 from the floor, .368 fromthe three-point area and .875 from the free throw line. The was two16 minute halves, and players did switch teams.
ODU returns to action when they host the University of SaskatchewanWednesday night at 7 p.m. They were 25-13 last year. They play atWilliam and Mary on Nov. 1, the at Virginia Tech on Nov. 4.
