NORFOLK, Va. -- The Old Dominion women's field hockey hits the road for its next five games beginning this weekend as they travel to Ann Arbor, Michigan. The Lady Monarchs take on Michigan on Saturday at Ocker Field and then play Miami (Ohio) on Sunday on a neutral turf contest.

* Old Dominion spilt contests for the second week in a row defeating Virginia, 4-0, and losing in overtime, 1-2, to Maryland.
* The 4-0 shutout against the Cavaliers was ODU's first since blanking conference rival Drexel back on October 3, 2004.
* The Old Dominion defense did not allow a single Virginia shot on net.
* In last Saturday's game against Virginia, three different Lady Monarchs reached the back of the Cavalier net led by 2004 leading scorer Dana Sensenig with two. The two goals were Sensenig's first of the season.
* The Lady Monarchs played their first overtime game of the season last Sunday against Maryland in a down to the wire thriller. Sophomore Sami McLenegan tallied her first collegiate goal with .2 seconds left in regulation to force overtime against the Terps. Unfortunately, it was the Terps who would go on to win the game recording the game-winner with 22 seconds left in the first overtime session.
* The Lady Monarchs hit the road for the next five games including this weekend's series with Michigan and Miami (Ohio). Old Dominion will also travel to North Carolina to face UNC and Duke and up the road to take on Richmond.

ODU All-Time vs. Michigan: 4-2
* Michigan will take on Miami (Ohio) on Friday night before hosting the Lady Monarchs on Saturday. Friday's game against the Red Hawks will mark the 2005 home opener for the Wolverines.
* The game will mark the second straight year the Lady Monarchs have travel to Ann Arbor to face Michigan.
* The Wolverines opened their season with three straight losses before picking up a 3-2 win over Temple in Philadelphia last weekend.
* The Lady Monarchs and Wolverines share four common opponents. Both teams will or have already faced North Carolina, Maryland, Miami (Ohio), and Penn State. Both Michigan and Old Dominion lost at the hands of the Maryland Terrapins last weekend. The Lady Monarchs dropped a thriller, a 1-2 decision in overtime, while the Wolverines were shutout 4-0 in College Park.
* On the stat sheet, three Wolverines have registered goals through four games. Stephanie Hoyer leads the team with two goals and an assist.
* Last season Old Dominion needed overtime to get past the Wolverines. Current senior Jennifer Angat tallied the game-winner with two and a half minutes remaining in the first overtime session to give the Lady Monarchs a 3-2 come from behind victory.

* The RedHawks and Lady Monarchs have faced each other only one other time in history and that was back in 1992. That season the Lady Monarchs defeated Miami (OH), 7-0, and finished the year with a 25-0 record and an NCAA championship trophy.
* Miami (OH) will take on Michigan on Friday before playing the Lady Monarchs on Sunday.
* Head coach Jill Reeve is a former Lady Monarch, graduating from Old Dominion in 1993. She earned All-America honors at ODU in 1991 and is the current NCAA record-holder for career assists with 138. While at ODU, Reeve was a member of three National Championship squads from 1989-92.
* Sophomore forward Taylor Florence has scored both of the RedHawks' goals this year and has taken 12 shots on net. Florence was a First Team All-MAC selection last season.
* Miami (OH) boasts the Mid-American Conference Co-Player of the Year in senior goalkeeper Kerri Orr. To date, Orr is posting .566 save percentage and a 3.37 goals against average.
