SOUTHERN PINES, NC - Senior golfer Geoffrey Harris ( Reading, England) is tied for eighth, just four strokes behind the leader after 18 holes of the Mid Pines Intercollegiate golf tournament. As a team, the Monarchs are ninth.
Harris, who earned All-CAA honors and ranked ninth in the NCAA District last year shot a 36 on the front and a 35 on the back. Harris trails leader Jonathan Hill of East Carolina by four strokes. Senior Chris Piercy (Reading, England) shot a 74 and is tied for 25th.
The University of California-Berkeley leads the tournament with a 282. There will be 36 more holes on Tuesday.
