Golf Holds Sixth at CAA Championship

Glen Allen, VA-The Old Dominion golf team is currently in sixth place at the 2002 Colonial Athletic Association golf championship hosted by The Crossings Golf Club in Glen Allen, VA.

Virginia Commonwealth led the field on the record-setting first day. Since 1984 only five daily team scores had ever matched or bettered par. Today five teams accomplished the feat.

ODU's Geoffrey Harris (Reading, England) is tied for eighth place with an opening round score of 70. Michael Hospodar (Ontario, Canada) shot a 73 along with teammate Chris Piercy (Reading, England). Adam Condello (Fairport, NY) shot a 75 and Leighton Harris (Durban, South Africa) registered a 79.

VCU's Ted Brown and JMU's Jay Woodson are tied for the lead with a 68.
