The veteran of the Old Dominion coaching staff, Juliet McGee Schweiter begins her sixth season with the Lady Monarchs. Schweiter will share recruiting and scouting duties along with assisting with the on-court development of the Lady Monarch post players.
Since arriving in the Hampton Roads area, Schweiter has helped led the Lady Monarchs to five of their 13 consecutive CAA titles and a 124-38 overall mark. Among the Lady Monarchs many achievement with Schweiter on the sidelines include perennial NCAA Tournament appearances including the Elite Eight run in 2002.
Schweiter, who is an active recruiter throughout the year, is jointly responsible for on and off-campus recruiting efforts for the Lady Monarchs. In addition to her recruiting duties, Schweiter oversees the Lady Monarch managers, on-campus housing, and pre-game meal plans for student-athletes and shares responsibility for scouting opponents.
No stranger to Old Dominion, Schweiter spent two seasons under head coach Jeff Thatcher at former CAA rival American University in Washington, D.C. Before her stint with the Eagles, Schweiter served as an assistant coach at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut for two seasons.
Schweiter graduated from Pennsylvania's Bucknell University in 1993 with a bachelor's degree in economics. Following her graduation, Schweiter began her coaching career as the graduate assistant coach for perennial MAAC powerhouse Fairfield University in Connecticut, where she earned her master's degree in education.
During her playing career with the Bison, Schweiter scored over 1,000 points and led the Patriot League in rebounding for two seasons. A captain during her senior season, Schweiter was named to the All-Patriot League first team. A four-year standout player at Moses Brown High School in Rhode Island, Schweiter was inducted into the school's Hall of Fame.
A native of Providence, Rhode Island, Schweiter resides in Norfolk, VA, along with her husband, Herb, a Major in the United States Marine Corps. The couple welcomed their first child, Gavin Richard, on October 15th.
