Nathan Tschohl enters his fourth season as the men's and women's assistant swimming coach. Tschohl has helped out with every aspect of the program, but continues to head up recruitment of future Monarch and Lady Monarch student-athletes. The 2008-2009 class boasted two Olympians from Iceland, Arni Mar Arnason and Erla Dogg Haraldsdottir.

Prior to coming to Old Dominion, Tschohl served as head coach of the Cheshire Forest Flying Fish for five years. Most recently, Tschohl has helped out with Tidewater Aquatic Club, which has produced a 2004 and 2008 Olympian, numerous Senior and Junior National Qualifiers, multiple Age Group Top 16 Swimmers, Division I recruits, and a national high school record holder.

A former two-time Old Dominion Team Captain and MVP, Tschohl exhorts great pride for ODU and is very familiar with the CAA. Twice he was named CAA Swimmer of the Week and posted three top-five finishes at a single CAA Conference Championship Meet.

After graduating from Old Dominion with a degree in Criminal Justice, Tschohl coached senior level swimmers, and spent a short time in law enforcement with the city of Suffolk, Virginia. After his tenure in law enforcement, he returned to the Monarch program as an assistant coach.

Tschohl currently resides in Virginia Beach and is pursuing his graduate degree in Sports Management.
