2010-11:
Chosen as the 2011 CAA Men's Swimmer of the Year and 2011 CAA Championship Most Outstanding Swimmer...Picked as the conference's Men's Swimmer of the Year for the second time in his career also picking up the honor as a freshman in 2009....In all, picked up six All-CAA honors - 100 & 200 breast, 200 IM, 200 & 400 free relay, and 200 medley relay - at the CAA Championships and to date has been named all-conference 15 times...Captured three events and set a pair of records at the CAA Swimming Championship...Broke the conference record in winning the 200 individual medley with a time of 1:47.62 and also set a new meet record in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 1:56.58.. His third victory came in the 100 breaststroke where he touched the wall in a time of 53.55...Won the 100 freestyle, 200 individual medley, and 200 breaststroke at the Icelandic National Championships in April..Won the 100 freestyle in a time of 51.17, took first in the 200 IM clocking in with a time of 2:10.59, and captured the title in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:19.50..

2009-10:
Repeated as the CAA's 200 breast champion...Earned two all-conference honors in the 100 and 200 breast...In the 200 breast, swam his way to an NCAA "B" cut time of 1:59.32...In the 100 breast, placed second in the event with a "B" cut time of 54.10... Has picked up nine All-CAA honors in his career with the Monarchs.

2008-09:
The first Monarch to qualify for NCAA's in the Division I era...Named the CAA Swimmer and Rookie of the Year..First swimmer in CAA history to receive Swimmer and Rookie of the Year accolades in the same season....At NCAA's placed 25th in the 100 breast preliminaries (53.89), took 42nd in the 50 free preliminaries (19.92), and came in 21st in the 200 breast preliminaries (1:56.54)...Holds the ODU records in the 50 free, 100 and 200 breast, and helped the 200 and 400 free relay and 200 and 400 medley relays teams to new school records...CAA champion in the 50 free (19.85), the 100 breast (53.48) and the 200 breast (1:58.37)...Broke the CAA Championship meet record in the 100 and 200 breast, and set a new CAA mark in the 100 breast...During the summer clocked a time of 27.52 for a new Icelandic record in the men's 50 meter breaststroke short course, shaving .35 seconds off the mark recorded by countryman Jakob Sveninsson at Vatnaveroeld...Won a total of six medals for Iceland at the Small Nation Games, including four gold medals and a new games record in the 50 freestyle... Won gold with Iceland's 4x200 meter freestyle relay team, the 4x100 meter medley relay squad, the 4x100 meter freestyle relay, and in the 50 meter freestyle...Set a new games record in the 50 free with his gold medal performance of 22.87, surpassing the previous mark of 23.02 set in 2007...Also placed second to earn the silver in the 100 meter breaststroke...Captured the bronze in the 200 meter breaststroke...

Prep: 2008 Olympian swimming for Iceland....Swam the 50 free in Beijing...Holds the Icelandic record in the event having captured a time of 22.81...An Icelandic champion multiple times throughout his career....Won the Nordic Junior Championships in the 100 breast in 2005...Also competed at the European Junior Championships...

Personal: Born October 9, 1987...Son of Arni Thorvaldsson and Gudrun Magnusdottis...Has one older brother, Thorvaldus Arnason (33), and one older sister, Gigja Hronn Arnadotis (27)...majoring in engineering.
