Former Old Dominion University men’s soccer standout Chris Harmon (’12) begins his first season as an assistant coach under Alan Dawson in 2016.

Previously, Harmon was the assistant coach for the women's program in 2015 under head coach Angie Hind, helping lead the Lady Monarchs to an 8-12-1 record and a berth in the Confernece USA Tournament semifinals. Harmon also spent the 2014 season as the Director of Soccer Operations for both men’s and women’s soccer programs at ODU.

Prior to ODU, Harmon served as assistant coach for Florida Southern in 2013 under the direction of former ODU men’s soccer standout and former ODU men’s soccer assistant coach, Ryan Sniegoski (ODU ’05).

Harmon played both midfielder and forward during his playing career at Old Dominion and was a First Team NSCAA All-Region and First Team All-CAA member in 2012. He ranked 26th nationally in points per game (1.50), third in CAA in assists with six and fourth in the league in total goals in 2012 with nine. Harmon played 72 times (started 65 times) for the Monarchs, while scoring 21 goals and assisting 14 times (69 total points).

Harmon is a native of Downingtown, Pennsylvania. Harmon graduated from Old Dominion with a degree in Health and Physical Education.
