Ashby Larkin joined the Old Dominion athletic training staff in May of 2026.
Prior to joining ODU, Ashby served as an Athletic Trainer at James Madison University, providing medical care for the cheer, swim & dive and men’s tennis programs. She also serves as a clinical preceptor for athletic training students from multiple institutions.
Larkin earned her Master of athletic training from University of Virginia, where she completed clinical rotations with women’s soccer, women’s lacrosse, softball and football. Her experience included developing post-operative rehabilitation programs, assisting with return-to-sport progression, providing acute injury care, and supporting NCAA championship events.
A former Division I women’s soccer student-athlete at JMU, Larkin was a five-year starter and defensive captain who helped lead the Dukes to multiple conference championship appearances. During her career, the program set school records for goals against average, fewest goals allowed and shutouts in a season.
Larkin earned a Bachelor of health science, pre-athletic araining from James Madison . She is a Board of Certification (BOC) Certified Athletic Trainer and holds certifications in CPR and AED.
