NORFOLK, VA--Old Dominion University senior woman's golfer Bailey Mosier(Las Vegas, NV). is one of two students to be considered for the 2008 USA TODAY All-USA College Academic Team. Mosier, a communications major joins GordonTolson, Jr., a senior graphic major as ODU's nominees.
USA TODAY will select 20 students out of the national pool of applicants for itsFirst team, which will be announced Feb. 14. The winners named to the first teamwill receive a $2,500 cash award and be featured in USA TODAY as representativesof all outstanding undergraduates. Forty more students will be named to second and thirdteams.
The award honors full-time undergraduates who not only excel in scholarshipbut also extend their intellectual abilities beyond the classroom to benefit society.Criteria include grades, academic rigor, leadership, activities and more. These criteriaWere developed in conjunction with newspaper and the following organizations:National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities; National Association ofState Universities and Land-Grant Colleges, American Association of Colleges forTeacher Education, Council for Advancement and Support Education and American Council on Education.
This past fall, Mosier, one of the team co-captains tied for 19th at the Lady Monarch Invitational.
