Field Hockey At No. 8 In Latest STX/NFHCA Poll

NORFOLK, Va. -- Despite two wins last week, a 3-2 victory over #17 James Madison and an 8-2 win over Towson, the Old Dominion field hockey team slipped back two spots in this week's STX/NFHCA Poll to No. 8.

The Lady Monarchs (8-4) have already faced four of the country's top five teams and are awaiting rematches with #2 Maryland, #3 Duke, and #5 North Carolina. Additionally, Old Dominion has already faced #6 Penn State and #14 Michigan.

Joining Old Dominion in representing the CAA are #11 Northeastern and #18 James Madison. Hofstra and William & Mary are also receiving votes this week.

Old Dominion returns to action on Friday night taking on Virginia Commonwealth at 6:00 p.m. The Lady Monarchs will follow by hosting 2005 CAA Champions, the University of Delaware, on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. Both games will be played at Foreman Field and admission is free.
