CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - (Feb. 16) Old Dominion (2-2-1) and Virginia(0-3-1) played three hours and ten minutes and after eightinnings the game was tied at 14 and was stopped due to darkness.
Freshman Brent Sollenberger (Chambersburg, Pa.) had twohits and knocked in five runs, including a grand slam in thesixth inning that game the Monarchs a 10-9 lead. Jared Musolf (Lakehurst, NJ)knocked in three runs and Jeff Eure(Pillow, Pa.) knocked in two. Eure hit a solo home run inthe second inning.
The Monarchs led after the eighth inning, 14-12 when freshman catcher JohnOehler (Audubon, NJ) singled home two runs. But with two outs, Virginia loadedthe bases on threewalks and Tim Lavagne singled home two runs to tie.
Old Dominion travels to ACC powerhouse Clemson for a three-game series, beginning on Friday.
