NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion University Football travels to Virginia Tech to take on the Hokies at Lane Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 12 at noon.

• ODU defeated Norfolk State 31-10 in the season opener last Saturday at Kornblau Field at S.B. Ballard Stadium.
• Virginia Tech defeated VMI 73-3 in its opener last weekend.
• ODU has won seven-straight games dating back to last season, tied for the third longest winning streak in the country. Indiana has the longest win streak at 17, while Notre Dame has 11-straight wins. The Monarchs are tied at seven with Utah.
• In his third start at quarterback and first that wasn’t the final game of the season, Quinn Henicle passed for 143 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 68 yards and two more scores.
• DeAndre Lynch recorded a career high 10 tackles in the win over Norfolk State. Koa Naotala notched nine tackles with a sack and a pair of tackles for loss.
Henicle in Control
ODU quarterback Quinn Henicle made his third career start at quarterback but his first that wasn’t the final game of a season.
Henicle passed for 143 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 68 yards and two scores.
In all three of his starts he has rushed for two touchdowns. His 68 rushing yards are the fewest he has had in his three starts.

New Weapons Outside
Old Dominion’s top three receivers from 2025 transferred to LSU, Vanderbilt and Maryland and returned just 21 catches.
But ODU reloaded at the position and on the second play of the game saw the Holmes CC JJ Harrell transfer catch a 38-yarder from Henicle.
Harrell led ODU in receiving with three grabs for 51 yards, while Maryland transfer Leon Haughton caught two passes for 46 yards.
All He Does is Catch Touchdowns
TJ Johnson transferred to ODU last year from SW Mississippi but caught just four passes and had a touchdown in the win at Virginia Tech.
In Saturday’s win over Norfolk State, he had two catches and two more touchdowns.
His first TD was a sliding catch in the back of the end zone for a 14-yard score and second was an 11-yard cross over the middle that he finished in the corner of the end zone.

Seven-Straight
Old Dominion ended the 2025 season on a six-game winning streak, currently the third longest active winning streak in the country.
Indiana has the longest streak at 17, with Notre Dame second at 11. The Monarchs are tied with Utah for the third longest streak in the country. Western Michigan had their six game losing streak snapped by losing at Michigan on a hail mary to fall, 13-12.
