WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - Old Dominion women’s tennis opened its 2026 fall season with a pair of titles at the Tribe Invite on Sept. 12-13, hosted by William & Mary.
Uladzislava Manzhos went 3-0 in the Gold Singles Draw, opening with a 6-2, 7-6(2) win over Mariana Zottoli of North Carolina Central. Manzhos then defeated Lucy Webber of Richmond, 6-4, 6-3, before earning a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Lara Stojanovski of Penn.
Ulyana Romanova went 2-1 in the Green Singles Draw. Romanova defeated Sofia Barbulescu of Richmond, 6-4, 6-3, and Francesca Davis of William & Mary, 7-6(4), 6-3. She then fell to Esha Velaga of Penn, 7-5, 6-2.
Daniel Hefner went 1-2 in the Black Singles Draw. Hefner opened the weekend with a 1-6, 2-6 loss to Jo-Leen Saw of Penn. She responded with a 6-2, 7-6(5) win over Marta Serra of Mississippi State before falling to Rebeka Svabikova of William & Mary, 1-6, 2-6.
Mya Byrd went 1-1 in the White Singles Draw. Byrd fell to Abby Lee of Richmond, 6-3, 2-6, (10-6), before earning a walkover victory over Patricia Palencia of North Carolina Central.
In doubles, Manzhos and Byrd went 3-0 in the Coastal Doubles Draw. The duo defeated O'Neil and Mann of Richmond, 6-2, before posting a 6-1 win over Rakotoarilala and Palencia of North Carolina Central. Manzhos and Byrd closed the weekend with a 6-2 victory over Motlagh and Vedula of Penn.
Romanova and Hefner competed in the Colonial Doubles Draw, falling to Barbulescu and Webber of Richmond, 6-4, and Stojanovski and Saw of Penn, 6-3.
