ODU WBB Announces 2026-27 Non-Conference ScheduleODU WBB Announces 2026-27 Non-Conference Schedule

NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion women’s basketball welcomes in-state foes Virginia and William & Mary and travels to face Richmond as head coach DeLisha Milton-Jones announced the team's non-conference opponents for the 2026-27 season.

“We're thrilled to release our non-conference schedule, headlined by hosting the University of Virginia at Chartway Arena,” said ODU head coach DeLisha Milton-Jones. “That is a tremendous opportunity for our program, our players, and our fans. We intentionally built a non-conference slate that will challenge us, prepare us for the Sun Belt, and bring exciting basketball to Norfolk. To have a high-level ACC program like Virginia coming to Chartway says a lot about where ODU Women's Basketball is headed, and we can't wait to see Monarch Nation there.”

The Monarchs will meet Central Michigan for the first time in the program’s history for the first round of the MAC-SBC Challenge to begin the season on Monday, November 2 at McGuirk Arena in Mount Pleasant, Mich. Central Michigan finished last season with an 18-12 record and went 12-6 in the MAC. CMU finished with a 9-4 record at home and went 9-7 on the road.

Old Dominion faces off against Virginia State on November 5 in Norfolk. The Monarchs last met the Trojans on December 22, 2024 and defeated them, 68-58. Mariah Clayton led ODU scorers with 15 points and Kelsey Thompson chipped in 10 in the winning effort.

The Monarchs host Tennessee State on November 8 at Chartway Arena. This will be the first meeting between the two programs.

ODU takes on Richmond on November 12 at the Robins Center. Richmond holds a 4-3 advantage in the all-time series, but the Monarchs won the last matchup on December 19, 2019, 73-51 at Chartway Arena. The Spiders finished last season with a 26-8 overall record and went 15-3 in the A10 and played Nebraska in the 2026 NCAA Tournament but fell, 75-56.

The Monarchs welcome in-state foe Virginia on November 15 at Chartway Arena. The Monarchs last faced off against the Cavaliers on December 24, 2019 and fell, 56-53 in overtime at the John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville. ODU holds a 19-16 advantage over UVA in the all-time series.

William & Mary meets Old Dominion in Norfolk on November 19. ODU took on W&M last season on November 16, 2025 at Kaplan Arena in Williamsburg, Virginia where the Monarchs won a cagey game, 56-53.

ODU returns to the Hoopfest tournament and will take on Memphis on November 23 and then will face St. Mary’s on November 25. ODU has a 4-1 all-time record against the Tigers but the programs last met in 1989. The Monarchs face the Gaels for the first time in program history.

ODU takes on Navy on November 30 at Alumni Hall. Old Dominion matched up with the Midshipmen in the 2024-25 WNIT First Round at Chartway Arena and the Monarchs came out with a commanding 21-point victory, 63-42. ODU holds a 2-0 all-time record with the first contest dating back to a March 20, 2014 meeting in the WNIT First Round where ODU won 68-60.

Old Dominion faces Colombia on December 3 at the Levien Gymnasium in New York, New York. ODU has met the Lions once in 2022 in the all-time series. ODU lost 62-59 to Columbia at home on March 20, 2022.

ODU hosts Virginia Union in Norfolk, Virginia at Chartway Arena on December 15. The Monarchs haven’t faced off with the Panthers since 1981 but have a 5-0 advantage in the all-time series. Virginia Union finished last season with a 17-9 overall record and went 10-6 in the CIAA.

Old Dominion travels to Champaign, Illinois to meet the Fighting Illini on Dec 22 at the State Farm Arena. The Monarchs have only faced Illinois once in program history back in 1997 where ODU came out victorious, 79-65.

The Monarchs hosts Morgan State at Chartway Arena on December 28. The two programs have only met once and it happened in the 2024-25 season. On November 11, 2024, Old Dominion defeated the Bears 60-48 at Chartway Arena.

ODU will face off with another school from the MAC in the second round of the MAC-SBC Basketball Challenge on February 6.
