FRISCO, TEXAS – Old Dominion women’s golf has five Monarchs who have been named to the Women’s Golf Coaches Association 2025-26 All-American Scholar Team, as announced by the WGCA on Monday.

The five Monarchs earning the distinction include Barbara Car, Puneet Bajwa, Ludovica Girola, Julia Rafter, and Alina Shchepteva. The five are among 1,551 women's collegiate golfers from across the country to be named to the team.

To be eligible for the All-American Scholar Team, a student-athlete must earn a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher, be an amateur and on the team’s roster through the conclusion of the team’s season, and have played in 50% of the program’s regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year nominated through the team’s conference championship.

This marks the first time that Car, Girola, Rafter, and Shchepteva have been named to the WGCA All-American Scholar Team. It is the second time that Bajwa has been named to the team after she earned a spot on the 2023-24 team as a freshman.

The Women's Golf Coaches Association, formerly known as the National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA), was founded in 1983 as a non-profit organization representing women's collegiate golf coaches.
