Old Dominion University Swimming recently completed its season at the ASUN Conference Championships and the National Invitational Championships. The Monarchs broke four school records and Bryce Mortimer won the ASUN 200 Breaststroke for the second-straight season to highlight the postseason.
At the ASUN Championships, Mortimer led the Monarchs by winning the 200 breaststroke in a time of 1:56.02. He also placed second in the 200 IM with a time of 1:46.64.
Freshman Addison Elliott set a school record in the 100 backstroke with a time of 53.13 to place second at the ASUN Championships.
Zachary Redding earned a trio of third place finishes at the ASUN Championships. Finishing third in the 50 freestyle in a time of 19.60, the 100 butterfly in a school record time of 46.43 and the 100 free with a time of 42.85.
ODU’s 200 free relay team of Redding, Jordan Smolsky, Robby Young and Mortimer earned a school record time of 1:19.25 to place third.
The 400 free relay team of Redding, Jordan Davis, Young and Smolsky finished third with a time of 2:55.88.
At the NIC, Redding led the Monarchs with a second-place finish in the 100 free with a time of 43.15.
Grey Bremer finished in fifth in the 500 free with a time of 4:25.60.
The 200 medley relay team of Mortimer, Dawson Truong, Smolsky and Redding broke the school record with a time of 1:26.79 to finish fifth.
Mortimer finished in sixth in the 100 IM with a time of 49.27.
Elliott earned an eighth-place spot in the 100 backstroke with a time of 54.10.
